RAK Chamber in tie-up talks with Swedish team

Ras Al Khaimah Chamber recently hosted a high-level delegation from Sweden to discuss economic and investment opportunities in the sectors of life sciences, manufacturing, clean technologies, smart cities, future transportation and tourism.
The Swedish delegation was headed by Sven Otto Littorin, chairman of the National Trade Organization for Sustainability in Sweden and Chairman of the UAE-Sweden Business Council.
Mohammed Hassan Al Sabab, director general of RAK Chamber, welcomed the desire of the two parties to enhance cooperation and benefit from expertise in various fields and sectors. He assured that the meeting contributes to enhancing investment opportunities and cooperation among businessmen.
Moreover, the Chamber seeks to contribute to enhance and encourage investment by all possible means. In the forthcoming phase, the Chamber plans to initiate several development projects within its strategic plan and to develop the infrastructure of its current projects to increase the revitalization of the commercial movement and enhance the attractions of the private sector in the Emirate.
Furthermore, it seeks to promote the sustainability and competitiveness of the business environment in the Emirate and to encourage and stimulate international trade.
Al Sabab referred to the Chamber's commitment to open new horizons and areas of cooperation between companies and institutions in both the Emirate and Sweden, especially in areas of mutual interest.
These areas are sectors and fields of life sciences, manufacturing, clean technologies, smart cities, future transportation and tourism, and other important areas. He assured the importance of the strategic location of the Emirate, which facilitates the process of expansion of investors in the markets of the region and the development of their trade and investment business and activity.
Sven Otto Littorin, declared that the UAE is one of the top 28 countries that Sweden aims to increase trade with, because of the strength, flexibility and diversification of the UAE economy. He assured that the forthcoming phase is to focus on what other countries need from Swedish companies, instead of what Sweden can sell to them. Sweden has a high and successful economic diversification and competitiveness
The meeting covered, moreover, the services provided by Ras Al Khaimah Chamber and discussed the available opportunities to enhance trade and investment exchange in economic sectors of common interest.
