Officials at the awards ceremony

Fine Hygienic Holding wins Leonie awards

SINGAPORE, September 30, 2018

Fine Hygienic Holding (FHH), a leading manufacturer of hygienic paper products, recently received several prestigious awards at the Break the Ceiling Touch the Sky Leonie Awards ceremony.

The Leonie awards, also known as the Global Gender Diversity and Leadership Excellence Awards, recognise companies and individuals that have made significant contributions to the progress of women in leadership roles around the world.

The event was held in Singapore on September 10 following the annual success and leadership summit for women, which welcomed the attendance and participation of more than 500 individuals from more than 30 countries, said a statement.

The winners of the awards were determined by a jury of more than 40 influential leaders from some the world’s most successful companies, who were charged with recognising and honouring organisations and leaders from around the world who have had a significant and positive impact on gender diversity in the modern workplace.

Fine was proud and deeply honoured to receive three of the awards; namely the third place in the Mentor of the Year category, received by its chairman Ghassan Nuqul, and the second place in the Diversity and Inclusion/HR Leader Champions category, received by its chief human energy Nicola Billeh, while its chief executive officer James Michael Lafferty received an award in the Male Champion for Gender Diversity category, and was recognised in the Best CEO’s/Presidents Leading on Gender Diversity category.

To accept such prestigious awards was a massive accomplishment for FHH and recognised its tireless efforts to promote gender diversity in a region where women are underrepresented in the workforce. In the last six months alone, Fine increased the representation of women on its leadership team to 30 percent, a trend the company is eager to continue building upon.

Lafferty said: “We are so proud of our Leonie Awards, as we have made great progress this year in our mission to better represent and empower women within our workforce.”

“As women progress more prominently onto the global stage, the companies that don’t make changes to accommodate them will be the ones left behind. We only hope that other companies in the region take note of what we are doing here, and follow our example,” he added.

FHH has already received several awards recognising its status as a top employer in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, allowing it to attract the best talent anywhere in the world, male or female.

With an emphasis placed on dedication and individual merit, all employees have an equal chance to develop professionally and succeed at the company. In order to fulfil its vision of becoming ‘the shining star of the Arab FMCG business world,’ Fine leads by example, creating a more diverse and inclusive leadership team, worthy of a prodigious industry leader, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
