Grundfos signs MoU with Taka Solutions

DUBAI, March 25, 2018

Grundfos, a leading multinational pump and water application systems manufacturer, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai-based Taka Solutions to offer energy savings opportunities to customers.

Taka Solutions is an energy services company (ESCo) that finances, develops and implements solutions aimed at enhancing customers’ energy efficiency and reducing energy-related expenditures providing both economic and environmental benefits.

Grundfos solution ‘No Budget? No Problem!’ can help organisations to finance the investment based on a shared savings model through the right ESCo partners. This portfolio is tailored to customers’ needs, so that monthly energy savings meet or exceed financial costs. Simply put…’you pay-as-you-save’, said a statement.

Under the agreement, which was inked at Grundfos’ Dubai office, both companies will work to identify projects that present energy savings opportunities based on the replacement, retrofitting or modification of the pumps system, it said.

They will also collaborate on financing these projects in a variety of ways, from full turnkey solutions including sourcing and installation of products, or by offering energy consultancy, it added.

Taka Solutions uses quality engineering, financing and management to optimise building energy use through comprehensive, turnkey solutions to reduce costs, carbon impact and increase asset profitability and value.

The company operates across several key sectors, such as hospitality, healthcare, commercial buildings, and has won various awards for its sustainability contributions.

Kostas Poulopoulos, general manager, Grundfos, said:  “We are proud to initiate this partnership and synergy between our two companies to offer energy saving opportunities for our customers.”

As part of the agreement, Grundfos will be providing training, workshops and sustainable pump solutions that optimise Taka Solutions’ energy efficiency projects.

It falls in line with Grundfos’ philosophy, which aims to push the boundaries of possibility in energy efficiency and water conservation to improve people’s lives, and will also strengthen its presence in the retrofit and refurbishment market.

Charles Blaschke, managing director, Taka Solutions, said: “We are excited in this partnership to combine forces where each party adds specific value and can unlock more impact and savings for customers and the planet.”

Tolga Candan, business development manager, Energy Opt & Retrofit, Grundfos, said: “It’s also a great pleasure that signing of the deal coincided with commissioning of our first joint project with Taka Solutions where the initial results significantly reduce the energy consumption of pumps and generating close to Dh100,000 ($27,225) per year savings with an ROI of less than one year, on top of the further savings and benefits of overall HVAC optimisation.” – TradeArabia News Service
