Pakistan-based Lucky Cement, a leading cement producer, has revealed that the first phase of the brown-field expansion of its cement grinding unit in Iraq is expected to come online by October 2017, said a report.

It will have a capacity of 435,500 tonnes per annum, representing half of the planned 871,000-tonne expansion, added the Iraq Business News report.

The second half of the expansion is expected to come online by the end of November.

The project will double the capacity of the factory to 1.742 million tonnes per annum, added the report.
