Siemon wins ME network cabling award

DUBAI, April 12, 2017

US-based Siemon, a leading global network infrastructure specialist, was recognised as the ‘Network Cabling Vendor of the Year’ at the recent Network World Middle East 2017 Awards ceremony held in Dubai, UAE.

The event was attended by leading vendors and end users from across the Middle East, said a statement from Siemon.

Now in its eighth year, the event recognises and celebrates networking excellence. It honours IT companies and business professionals that demonstrate innovative leadership and provide innovations that produce measurable results.

This year’s winners were chosen via public online voting from a list of finalists selected by an esteemed panel of judges from a selected pool of nominations, it said.

Siemon’s entry focused on its pioneering work in the areas of convergence and intelligent buildings – in particular its ConvergeIT solution, it added.

ConvergeIT combines Siemon’s proven quality with advanced copper and optical fibre technology to create a structured cabling system that converges critical data, voice, video and low voltage building automation systems (BAS) on to a single unified physical infrastructure, providing significant cost savings and sustainability over the life of a facility. said the statement.

Strategic partnerships such as Siemon’s participation within Cisco’s Digital Building Solution and alliances with digital lighting partners, as well as informative technical white papers, were also instrumental in earning the company a nomination, it added.

Now recognised as a leader in intelligent building infrastructure, Siemon has completed numerous successful deployments of ConvergeIT across the Middle East.

The judging panel, while lauding Siemon, unanimously recognised the diversity of ConvergeIT. It comprises cabling media to support delivery of all low voltage building automation, audio-visual and light emitting diode (LED) lighting applications, including those supported by power over Ethernet (PoE) and PoE+.

Prem Rodrigues, director of sales and marketing for the Middle East, India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Siemon, said: “We are incredibly proud to have won the award, and equally delighted that our dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology has been recognised in this way.”

“Our company has enjoyed a major presence in the Middle East for over 20 years. With ConvergeIT we are taking the intelligent building approach a step further by supporting a facility's various low-voltage applications on a single IP-based structured cabling system rather than on separate and often proprietary cabling plants,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
