Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), an international aluminium smelter, recently launched its first annual Sustainability Report, attesting its ongoing commitment to sustainable development, transparency and accountability.  

The report was developed to share the company’s journey using the internationally recognised sustainability reporting framework from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), said a statement from Alba.

Moreover, the report covers the significant environmental, economic and social aspects of the company’s business and highlights its sustainability performance and strategies at integrating sustainable development principles into its operations and services, it said.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray, said: “Our company is pleased to launch its first sustainability report, which validates our corporate social responsibility efforts and commitment towards high environmental and social standards.”

“The annual reporting on sustainability will allow for greater transparency of our sustainable programmes as well as create value for our stakeholders and the communities,” he said.
