General Dynamics wins $65m Iraq contract

Iraq has awarded US-based General Dynamics Land Systems a $65.29 million cost-plus-fixed-fee foreign military sales contract for contractor logistic support and training for M1A1 tanks and M88A2 recovery vehicles, said a report.
General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in providing land and amphibious combat systems to the defense industry, it said.
The work will be performed in Iraq (85 per cent); and Sterling Heights, Michigan, US (15 per cent), and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2017, added the Iraq Business News report.
The bids were solicited via the Internet with one received, it said.
