DP World Sokhna and the British delegation members

DP World Sokhna receives British delegation

CAIRO, July 26, 2016

Egypt-based DP World Sokhna, a local marine terminal of global shipping terminal operator DP World, recently received a high-ranking delegation of British investors.

The delegation was on a visit to Egypt seeking investment opportunities in the New Suez Canal Axis.

DP World Sokhna sits just south of the Suez Canal on the Red Sea on one of the world's busiest maritime trade routes – from Asia to the Middle East and beyond, to Europe.

The delegation was headed by Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, trade representative of the British Government and member of the British House of Commons, and was accompanied by Dr Ahmed Darwish, chairman of the Suez Canal's General Authority for Economic Zone, as well as representatives of the British Embassy in Cairo, said a statement.

DP World Sokhna’s top management welcomed the delegation, gave a detailed presentation on the port operations and arranged a field tour to give the investors a first-hand field experience of the stat-of-the-art port facility, it added.

John Fewer, CEO of DP World Sokhna, said: “The availability of logistics, facilities and infrastructure is crucial for the facilitation of investment. Port services are an integral part of this ecosystem, which the Egyptian government is striving hard to develop.”

“We fully understand this and, as an industry leader, DP World Sokhna is firmly committed to supporting the government’s efforts to provide a healthy and attractive investment environment for foreign investors,” he said.

“We are very pleased to have received the British delegation and hope that the tour through our facility will further instil investors’ confidence,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
