Qatar signs $27m deals at civil defence expo

Qatar has signed deals worth QR102 million ($27.9 million) with local firms at the recently concluded Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference in Doha, according to a report.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence signed a QR92 million with Fahad Trading and Contracting for purchase of new rescue equipment, fire jackets and coats, said The Peninsula report.
A second contract worth QR7 million was signed with Al Hamad Trading Establishment for special rapid intervention vehicles.
The vehicle, weighing 24 tonnes and containing thermographic camera is capable of breaking into buying buildings where civil defence personnel cannot reach, it said.
The director has also signed a QR3 million contract with Al Khaleej Global Trading for prevention equipment including fire jackets and suits, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
