Iran tenders for development of new gold mine

TEHRAN, October 15, 2015

Iran has tendered the development of a new gold deposit in its Qazvin province, with an aim to develop the participation of the private sector, according to a report.
 
Early prospecting at the Niku’iye gold zone in Takestan has produced promising results, Ali Asgharzadeh, head of exploration at the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro), was quoted as saying, in the Press TV report.
 
A European company has indicated interest in the project, he said, without revealing its name.
 
The prospective bidders have been given until October18 to submit their offers to Imidro for the Niku’iye project.
 
The deposit spans an area of about 10 sq km, where operations are at the semi-detailed exploration phase.
