DMCC recognised as top free zone globally

DUBAI, October 12, 2015

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the free zone authority on trade, enterprise and commodities in Dubai, has been named 'Global Free Zone of the Year' 2015 by The Financial Times fDi Magazine.

DMCC is a connected marketplace with over 11,000 member companies and a community of 85,000 workers and residents.

The fDi Magazine, an English-language bi-monthly news and foreign direct investment publication, is owned by The Financial Times.

The annual global survey, considered the most prestigious free zone rankings, are based on criteria such as outstanding performance year on year, growth and expansion plans, and presence of high growth industries, said a statement.

The DMCC Free Zone was hailed for its unrivalled digital and physical end-to-end services and infrastructure model which offer businesses everything they need to set up, whether a branch office or full operations, in one place, it added.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman, DMCC, said: “Receiving the award cements DMCC's position as the global hub for trade, enterprise and commodities, and reaffirms Dubai's success story in enabling businesses to flourish like nowhere else in this world.”

The DMCC has grown exponentially since its formation in 2002 with over 11,000 member companies from over 170 countries.

It is home to the world's best-known corporations including; Alcatel Lucent, American Express, Carrera Y Carrera, Colgate-Palmolive, Dyson, Eurofin, John West Foods, Lukoil, LVMH, Nutricia Danone, Oddfjell, Rio Tinto - Dimexon and TAG Worldwide.
