Doosan Infracore Bobcat opens new innovation centre

Leading compact equipment manufacturer Doosan Infracore Bobcat Holding (DIBH), a wholly owned subsidiary of Doosan Infracore Co, has opened a new innovation centre at the company’s facility in Dobris in the Czech Republic.  

The new Innovation Centre is now part of the Doosan Campus at Dobris, which integrates R&D with manufacturing, sourcing and training on the same site in a unique combination that Doosan considers will help the company become world number one in the compact equipment market, said a statement from the company.   
 
The opening ceremony for the innovation centre was hosted by Jose Cuadrado, vice president for compact equipment in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); along with Scott Park, president and CEO of DIBH; and Martin Knoetgen, president of DIBH’s business in EMEA.  

The event was also attended by the Korean Ambassador for the Czech Republic, Ambassador Hayong Moon.
 
The new centre focuses on creating new innovative solutions, product development, research and testing activities.  The new facility, with more than 8000 sq m of floor space for prototyping and testing and 1400 sq m of office area, it said.

The new facility houses integrated cross-functional product development teams consisting of product management, product engineering, test laboratory, advanced analysis, reliability growth, prototype shop, compact NPD functions as well as supplier development and sourcing, it added.  

The new complex test laboratories have been built for product validation ensuring a high level of performance, reliability and durability for Doosan and Bobcat products, said the statement.
 
The state-of-the-art technology includes modern prototype shop machinery including rapid prototyping, climate-controlled laboratories for extreme conditions tests, static and dynamic test facilities and a new noise test chamber with unique parameters which will ensure that Doosan continues to develop top-class compact construction machines under the Doosan and Bobcat brands.

Cuadrado said: “The new centre demonstrates the long-term commitment of Doosan and the bold decisions taken by the company when Europe and the rest of the world were experiencing a pronounced economic downturn, investing in people and innovative industrial and business solutions around the world.”
