ABU DHABI, August 18, 2015
Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), the entity responsible for developing quality infrastructure and raising awareness on quality standards in the emirate, is hosting a series of development programmes in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to ensure the competency of testing and calibration labs.
Drawing the participation of 40 technicians and managers of quality labs, quality experts and certification bodies, the training programmes offer insights into ISO/IEC 17025 standards for testing and calibration labs, said a statement.
The workshops aim to develop the competency level of testing and calibration labs in Abu Dhabi and their level of ability to produce validated results as part of QCC’s priority to improve competency levels in the emirate and align them with best-in-class global standards.
The medical labs are not included in this phase of the programme and will be covered early next month, it said.
Mohammed Helal Al Balooshi, marketing and communications acting director at Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), said: “In our ongoing pursuit to enhance the quality infrastructure and services in Abu Dhabi, QCC prioritises the continuous improvement of our technical capabilities and related infrastructure to meet the evolving standard requirements of Abu Dhabi in order to enable both regulators and industry.
"Our latest series of development programs reflect QCC’s proactive approach to enabling stakeholders and fulfilling the requirements of industry for cutting-edge testing and calibration services.”
