GAC Marine wins trio of ISO certifications

Dubai, August 4, 2014

Global ship spares logistics provider GAC Marine Logistics (GML) has secured ISO certifications in recognition of its Quality Management, Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety Systems.

The ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certificates were presented to GML global director Jan Kielmann by DNV GL’s Business Assurance country manager for the Middle East Alireza Ramin Majd at the company’s head office in Dubai.

“Companies today are subject to a far higher level of scrutiny from all stakeholders. The demand for transparency with respect to what footprint you leave on the environment, how safely you manage your operations, and how you continually improve quality, is increasing for businesses globally,” said Majd.

“The fact that GAC Marine Logistics Inc. is now a certified company for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 is further evidence of their commitment and eagerness to understand and meet their customers’ needs and expectations. DNV GL Business Assurance is honoured to be a part of this success.”

GAC Marine Logistics specialises in the provision of an international door-to-deck delivery service for ship spares and marine parts to ship owners, operators, charterers and ship management companies.

“GAC’s expertise in the global shipping, marine and logistics industry makes a huge difference to the lead times required for acquiring spare parts – aiding ship owners and alleviating management concerns. The trio of quality awards acknowledges the efficiency, quality and environmental consideration we exercise daily on behalf of our clients,” said Kielmann. – TradeArabia News Service
