Jeddah, February 16, 2014

Bahra Cables Co, a leading cable manufacturing  company in Saudi Arabia, has won an SR127 million ($33.8 million) contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries to supply low and medium voltage cables.

The cables are for the use in the $3.2 billion Jeddah South Thermal Power Plant, owned by Saudi Electricity Company, which will generate 2,400-2,800 MW of electricity enough for two million people.

Talal Idriss, CEO of Bahra, said: "Bahra Cables daily adds more clients to its network of clients of large local, regional and international companies that trust our products of cables which meet all requirements and highest international standards.

"The Jeddah South Thermal Power Plant will add 2,400-2,800 MW of electricity for domestic and industrial use, and will reduce loads on the existing power plants, and ensure a constant flow of electric current, which, in return, will improve lives of millions of people, a goal that our government is very keen to pursue.” - TradeArabia News Service
