Globe Express Services to expand in Mideast
Dubai, May 7, 2012
Globe Express Services (GES), one of the world’s top 100 global logistics providers, plans to expand its presence in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE where its regional headquarters will be situated.
This comes in line with the expected rise of the UAE logistics sector, which is anticipated to achieve an average growth of 9 per cent each year from 2010 to 2020, it said.
A study by Frost & Sullivan has revealed that overall logistics revenues in the UAE would reach around $16 billion by 2020, the company said.
The company’s core services include Project Logistics and Management (out-of-gauge, breakbulk, RoRo) and Logistics and Compliance Consulting.
“The UAE has one of the most lucrative logistics markets in the world, making it one of the key destinations of our long-term global growth plan. Globe Express Services has extensive expertise and experience to provide world-class services that will add value to our UAE and regional clients’ business activities, whilst contributing at the same time to the steady growth of the UAE’s logistics sector. Our presence in the UAE and other key markets across the Middle East will be crucial in maintaining and strengthening GES’ reputation as a customer-focused, quality-driven business organisation,” said Mustapha Kawam, managing director - Gulf States, Globe Express.
As part of Globe Express Services’ global expansion strategy and organic growth of the business, it recently entered into a joint venture with ITSA, one of Italy’s largest logistics companies. Prior to that, GES set up offices at the end of 2011 in Moscow, Beijing, Nanjing and Abu Dhabi thus increasing the total number of GES offices to 56.
This comes as part of Globe Express Services’ comprehensive long-term plan to grow, promote and strengthen the company’s global stance and offerings; by means of continuously endeavouring to provide customers across the world with innovative solutions and high-quality services, the company said.
Globe Express Services specialises in out-of-gauge services, which is a core offering of the company’s Project Logistics and Management portfolio. In Logistics and Compliance Consulting, Globe Express Logistics offers its expertise in creative warehouse design, distribution, supply chain execution and material handling solutions for leading retail, wholesale, and consumer product manufacturing companies.
Globe Express’ consultancy services also cover selection and implementation of supply chain execution software, including warehouse management systems, asset management systems, transportation management systems, yard management systems and labor management systems, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
