Gentas-Axens in Saudi plant accord

Manama, July 7, 2011

General Technologies and Systems Company (Gentas) and international group Axens have signed a letter of intent to build a world-scale hydroprocessing catalyst production plant in Saudi Arabia.

Gentas is a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabia-based Shoaibi Group. The plant will be designed to produce latest generation catalysts to satisfy customer needs for the production of clean fuels that meet the most stringent environmental specifications.
It will serve the local market and support the global supply chain of Axens in the field of hydroprocessing catalysts.

"We are excited to invest in a region with one of the highest growths in refining and petrochemicals capacities and move closer to our clients to better serve them," said Axens chairman and chief executive Jean Sentenac.

"We are extremely pleased in entering into this manufacturing joint venture with Axens, as it further reinstates our commitment to enhancing Saudi Arabia's local content and its petrochemicals manufacturing capabilities," added Gentas chairman and chief executive Khalid Suhayl Al Shoaibi. – TradeArabia News Service
