DuPont to design safety strategy for Petro Rabigh

Riyadh, June 9, 2011

Petro Rabigh, a leading Saudi petrochemical company, has selected DuPont Sustainable Solutions (DSS) to design a comprehensive safety strategy.

In a bid to further build on its deep commitment to employee safety and achieve world-class safety performance, Petro Rabigh will work with DuPont to evaluate its safety culture and safety management system to establish a baseline. Upon completion of the assessment, a comprehensive implementation plan to improve safety outcomes will be developed.

Having begun operations in April of 2009, Petro Rabigh – a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical – has the capacity to produce 18.4 million tons of petroleum-based products and 2.4 million tons of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives per annum.

“Based on their expertise, established methodologies and experience, we trust that DuPont can provide our company with solutions to help us achieve world-class safety standards,” said Ziad Labban, president and CEO of Petro Rabigh.

“Our range of solutions helps companies and organisations to develop a safe workplace and workforce, and thereby reap the benefits of increased worker morale and an improved bottom line,” added Johan van der Westhuyzen, regional leader for DuPont Sustainable Solutions.-TradeArabia News Service
