Emal backs aluminium summit
Abu Dhabi, September 22, 2010
A large contingent from Emirates Aluminium (Emal), a joint venture between Dubai Aluminium and Mubadala Development, is visiting the ongoing the 25th International Aluminium Conference in Bahrain.
President and CEO Saeed Al Mazrooei along with other Emal seniors spent the past day networking with other primary aluminium producers, raw material suppliers and perspective clients, a statement said.
The Taweelah-based smelter is a silver sponsor of the event in order to share professional expertise with colleagues in the field and meet with new clients.
The annual event regularly attracts more than 600 aluminium executives from around the globe, and all segments of the industry from bauxite miners and alumina refiners, to smelters, recyclers, fabricators, end-users, traders, bankers and service companies are represented.
“This is a remarkable opportunity to share our best practices with our regional and international colleagues and to learn from the work they are doing,” said Mazrooei. “Our desire at Emal is to continually improve the work we are doing, and that means sometimes we need to see things with a fresh perspective. Conferences like this one allow us to do just that.”
Additionally, Mazrooei pointed out the benefit of such an event for the smelter’s marketing team.
“The International Aluminium Conference is a huge opportunity for our marketing team; as we near full production,” said Mazrooei.
“Our cast house recently announced that it had begun producing our full product range. Our ability to offer a variety of products to perspective clients who are attending the conference is very timely and will certainly aid in our overall marketing success while we’re there,” he added.
Emal is currently ramping up to full production in both its smelter and cast house, but once full production for phase one is achieved, the plant will produce 750,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
