Dubai, February 25, 2010
Emirates Post has issued commemorative stamps to celebrate the first production of Emirates Aluminium (Emal) and the delivery of finished products to local and international clients.
The stamps, issued in denominations of Dh1 ($0.27), Dh2, Dh3 and Dh5, are available in all post offices in the UAE, said a statement.
First Day covers, priced at Dh12, and souvenir sheets of Dh16 each, can be purchased at main post offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The first set of stamps was presented to Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, CEO of Emal, by Salem Al Shaya, assistant CEO of Emirates Post, at an event held at Emirates Post head office in Dubai.
“We are delighted to commemorate for posterity the achievement of Emirates Aluminium through these stamps on the occasion of starting its production,” said Al Shaya.
“These stamps will proudly carry the message of UAE’s success in building the world’s largest single site aluminum smelter complex. We are proud that the aluminum produced by EMAL will be used by companies worldwide,” he added.
Saeed Al Mazrooei said: “Emirates Aluminium is extremely proud to be featured on these postal stamps that will complement our strategy of marketing one of the largest diversification projects in the UAE and encourage economic diversification by creating downstream opportunities.”
“Since the start up of production in December 2009, Emal has reached many new milestones, including the delivery of the finished product to local and international customers,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
