Gulf Warehousing, Agility to sign merger pact

Qatar's Gulf Warehousing Company said it is all set to sign a merger agreement with the Qatari unit of Kuwaiti logistics firm Agility on Tuesday. The actual merger with Agility will be finalised by mid-March, the company said in a statement.
The new company, which will operate under the name of GWC-Agility, will continue delivering high quality services in the current markets, the statement added.
Mohammed Al-Emadi, chairman of Gulf Warehousing Company, will be signing the merger contract, the company said in the statement.
'Although GWC and Agility have separate histories, they have always shared a common objective – to ensure absolute customer satisfaction. We remain dedicated to this objective now that we will be operating as one unit,' it added.
Gulf Warehousing Company said it will convene an ordinary and extraordinary general assembly meeting on March 3, 2010 at galleries Rzhinsi (Hall Andalusian) at 6pm in this connection.
'The actual merger with Agility is expected to be finalized by mid-March 2010,' Gulf Warehousing Company said in a statement on the Qatari bourse website.
The company has commissioned a law firm, to be delivered to competent court, to validate the net assets of Agility Qatar issued by Deloitte & Touche, the statement added.-TradeArabia News Service
