Drydocks World wins Lloyd’s shiprepair award

Drydocks World - Dubai, the region’s premier ship repair, conversion and new building yard, has won the prestigious Shipbuilding/Shiprepair Award at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards, for the fifth consecutive year.
The honour is in recognition of the consistent results Drydocks World - Dubai has delivered despite the global economic downturn, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality within the yard.
Nawal Saigal, managing director, Drydocks World - Dubai, was named 'Personality of the Year' for his strategic positioning of the shipyard, advocating investment and seizing opportunity in the downturn.
Ravi Senaratne, commercial director, Drydocks World - Dubai, received the award on behalf of the yard, in Dubai.
“This prestigious award has reiterated Drydocks World - Dubai’s status as the ship yard of choice because of our expertise, experience and stringent adherence to safety and quality standards,” said Ravi Senaratne.
The recognition is the latest in a series of high profile, international awards Drydocks World - Dubai has won over the years. The yard has won the Lloyd’s List Shipyard of the Year award for four consecutive years, from 2005 to 2008, he added.
The annual Lloyd’s List Awards, established by the internationally acclaimed trade publication group, are considered to be benchmarks for excellence in the industry.
The Dubai yard has recently expanded its repair and conversion facilities in terms of space and equipment, increasing its capacity for major projects involving highly complex, technical operations.-TradeArabia News Service
