KBR wins Al-Bayroni plant upgrade deal

Al-Jubail Fertilizer Company (Al-Bayroni), a Sabic affiliate, has awarded a contract to KBR, to provide engineering, procurement and supply of proprietary equipment for its ammonia plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Under the new contract, KBR will provide engineering design, procurement and installation support services for a new auxiliary boiler and a reformer convection section for the ammonia plant, which was originally built in the 1980s, utilising KBR’s ammonia technology.

“KBR is pleased to once again work with Sabic Al-Bayroni on the upgrade of a facility that was originally built using KBR technology,” said Tim Challand, president, KBR Technology.
