American Hospital Dubai joins Saada network

DUBAI, September 14, 2015

The American Hospital Dubai and its new Dubai Media City Clinic are now accepting patients under Saada, the new health insurance programme for UAE nationals in Dubai.

The Programme was introduced recently with a focus on screening, prevention and wellness.

Saada patients are being accepted through the Hospital’s agreement with NEXtCARE, a third party administrator (TPA).

Under the scheme, UAE national patients who are eligible for the Dubai National benefit can visit the hospital or clinic and access a comprehensive range of medical procedures and services, including some wellness and screening checks, with the benefit of direct billing (subject to the conditions of the policy which may require pre-approval and co-payment).

Saada (which means ‘happiness’ in Arabic) was initiated by the Dubai Health Authority and provides cover for the whole of the life of the insured and, in addition to health cover, includes mandatory preventive health screening. The scheme covers UAE nationals not covered by government health insurance programs in Dubai.

Peter Makowski, CEO of the American Hospital Dubai, said they had already started receiving a great response and a large number of inquiries from patients on the programme.

The American Hospital Dubai works with around 80 international and local insurance companies, directly or indirectly. Around half of all the hospital’s patients are covered by insurers.-TradeArabia News Service
