Arab world is ‘top growth market in health sector’

NEW YORK, April 9, 2015

The Arab world is one of the top growth markets in the health sector, with an enormous population growth that offers great opportunities with more than 360 million people.

The demand for health service is also on the rise due to the increasing number of elderly people and the treatment of lifestyle diseases, said a statement.

In the private and public sector, the investment to expand and modernise health care is increasing constantly, with GCC countries’ investment expected to increase 12 per cent per annum until 2018, it said.

A high-profile eighth Arab-German Health Forum held recently in Berlin brought experts from business, politics and science together to promote the German-Arab co-operation.

More than 300 German and Arab participants discussed recent developments in hospitals, pharmaceutics, medical technology, training and medical tourism.

ClinicAll hospital infotainment systems showcased its product portfolio for the Arab health sector at the event.

With its portfolio based on Windows 8 covers, the possibility of implementing telemedicine applications particularly generated high interest, as Arab governments pursue modernisation plans. - TradeArabia News Service
