Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Danilo Cassani, Takeda’s area head for Near East, Middle East, Turkey, Africa (NEMEA) said: “The opening of Takeda’s office in the United Arab Emirates reflects our growing commitment to the UAE and the area as a whole, which will be a key growth driver for Takeda in the coming years.”

Cassani added: “Patients are at the core of everything we do at Takeda, and we look forward to building on our established portfolio with an innovative pipeline of medicines in critical treatment areas - such as cardiovascular metabolic, gastroenterology and oncology - to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the Middle East. We have ambitious plans in the NEMEA region and we continue to evaluate opportunities to establish Takeda as a key player in the area.”
Ahdy ElSayes, managing director, Middle East (ME), Takeda said: “The UAE is one of the key countries for Takeda in the Middle East and it was a strategic decision to open our new office in UAE to allow a synergistic and convenient access to other key countries in the area. The deep-rooted healthcare system is a gateway for a growing pharma market supported by excellent economic indices.”
Over the last decade, Takeda has more than tripled its revenues in the region. Takeda had also invested in research for treatments of hypertension, diabetes, acid reflux disease and oncology.
“With an exciting pipeline of developed drugs ready for launches specific to these four treatment areas within the next five years, Takeda is ready and in a well-position to address the alarmingly rising incidence of these diseases in the Middle East region,” added ElSayes. – TradeArabia News Service
