CSH backs drive to attract Emiratis to private sector

DUBAI, February 23, 2015

Canadian Specialist Hospital (CSH), a leading private sector hospital in the UAE, has pledged its support for the ‘Absher’ initiative, launched in line with the directives of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance the participation of UAE citizens in the labour market.

Under an agreement signed with the UAE Ministry of Labour, CSH will offer its suite of services at special rates to UAE citizens registered in Absher, said a statement.

A collaborative initiative of the government and the private sector, Absher aims to create more job opportunities for UAE nationals and attract them towards private sector employment, it said.

Dr Haider Al Zubaidy, chief executive officer of CSH, said: “Canadian Specialist Hospital is delighted to be part of Absher as it is indeed a landmark initiative well-aligned to the social and economic development goals of the UAE.

“We see it as an opportunity to motivate UAE citizens to be part of the dynamic private sector in the country, acquire diverse competencies and benefit from the world class capabilities the UAE already has in various critical sectors, including healthcare.”

Absher has a growing list of over 50 partners from government and the private sector providing exclusive benefits including social services, education, health and housing in addition to various other special offers, said the statement.

UAE nationals are enrolled in Absher based on certain criteria such as completing six months work in the private sector and registering in the General Pension and Social Security Authority, it said.

“Our partnership in Absher will enable UAE citizens to have privileged access to the CSH quality of medical care accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), the world’s leading healthcare accreditor. Along with our consistent focus on evidence-based medicine and best-in-class care it’s also our priority to utilise our resources and expertise to address the concerns of the wider community,” added Dr Al Zubaidy. - TradeArabia News Service
