CGM acquires 3 European healthcare IT providers

CompuGroup Medical (CGM), a leading provider of eHealth solutions in the Middle East and Turkey, has acquired three European healthcare IT providers this year.
 
The move expands CGM’s portfolio of healthcare solutions amid growing demand for eHealth services and shifts the company into the primary source of advanced laboratory information management and doctors information systems, said a statement.
 
‘Vision4health Laufenberg &Co’ is a leading innovator in software solutions for laboratory and diagnostics in Europe. CGM acquired all significant assets and shares of the firm, with offices in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and France, were acquired. 
 
Vision4health’s suite of products consists of the ‘Modular Laboratory Information System’ (molis), which supports all relevant laboratory disciplines such as biochemistry and hematology, microbiology, histopathology, blood bank administration, and transfusion/transplantation medicine.
 
‘Molis vt’ implements work process models, while diagnostic portal ‘Molis vt channel’ complements this technology by supporting electronic ordering and results, paperless request for information and findings and other services. It connects doctors’ offices, medical centres, wards, outpatient departments and laboratories.
 
CGM has also acquired 100 per cent of the shares of ‘Imagine Editions’ and ‘Imagine Assistance’ in France, doubling the number of doctors using its software products in the country. 
 
Mehmet Bilginsoy, general manager of CGM Middle East, said: “The acquisitions have opened new growth opportunities in the eHealth sector from Europe to the global market with a particular focus on the Middle East and Turkey. They form part of CGM’s efforts to grow its profit, market share, and technology base.”
 
Thomas Reitmayr, vice president – business development, said: “We recognise the value of creating proactive networks between healthcare providers and diagnostic services. Together with our ambulatory information systems and the innovative products from our recently acquired companies, we now have an improved end-to-end capability to serve laboratories, doctors, and hospitals.”
 
CGM Middle East distributes industry-leading products including the integrated health information and management system ‘CGM Cortex,’ the ‘CGM CNG’ nursing information system, and ‘iCNG,’ a new mobile application for CGM CNG developed as native iOS software. - TradeArabia News Service
