The International mHealth Summit, to be held on May 28 and 29, is being organised by Himss with the support of the United Nations mHealth Alliance and the United States Foundation of the National Institutes of Health.
Ali Mohamed Al Ali, IT Manager at Abu Dhabi Health Authority (HAAD), said: “By forming the mHealth Summit Middle East, we will create a best-practice body of knowledge that allows practical application of mobile health to personal health, public health and clinical care.”
The summit agenda will focus on taking the power of mobile healthcare applications and solutions and applying them to pressing human needs in health.
The discussions on industry-related topics will include mobile health for diabetes management, games for health and wellness, mobile platforms to connect patients with healthcare providers and public health empowerment through mobility, he stated.
Himss president and CEO Stephen H Lieber said: “With the support of HAAD, launching the summit in Abu Dhabi will take mobile health out to the region’s medical professionals and act as a catalyst for implementation across the GCC as well as attracting international audience interest.” - TradeArabia News Service
