Bahrain life expectancy scales up

Bahrain’s overall longevity has continued upwards, signaling improved healthcare and lifestyle, said a senior government official.

According to updated 2011 statistics, life expectancy for women topped 76.1 years and that for men was 74.1 years, added Health Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi.

He quoted the figures as he addressed a family festival and marathon marking the World Health Day at Khalifa bin Salman Park.

According to official statistics, Bahrain’s population now stands at 1,234,571. – TradeArabia News Service
