Eid gifts for Down Syndrome children

Dubai, August 29, 2011

Dubai-based BinSina Pharmacy, which manages more than 200 global brands in the region, and UAE Down Syndrome Association teamed up to present toys to children with Down Syndrome on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

“It is a matter of great pride to work with the UAE Down Syndrome Association in support of this cause,” said Dr Saleema Shurrab, general manager of BinSina Pharmacy.

“We try to help all social groups as much as we can because we believe that we have a key role to play in paying something back to society. We were delighted to see the thrill on the faces of these kids as they played with the toys.”

“The UAE Down Syndrome Association is seeking to raise awareness about people with Down Syndrome and their potential role in our society. Many of them are very creative and make valuable contributions to society if we give them the right opportunity,” Dr Shurrab added.

The efforts of UAE Down Syndrome Association have gone a long way in improving the lives of people with Down Syndrome in the UAE.

Sonia Al Hashimi, UAE Down Syndrome Association president, said: “BinSina’s support to this cause is not a new thing. They have been contributing by sponsoring our Annual World Down Syndrome Day Walkathon event in the past.”

The UAE Down Syndrome Association provides various services, such as speech therapy and occupational therapy, to improve the lives of children and people with Down Syndrome in the UAE.

"The ongoing interest, care and support of BinSina is encouraging. They lead by setting a great example to the corporate community and we show what is possible and we would like to encourage all businesses to join in us in our efforts to work shoulder to shoulder with the community and help raise the quality of lives of people with Down Syndrome,” Al Hashimi added. – TradeArabia News Service
