Philips acquires special lighting firm

Royal Philips Electronics, a diversified health and well-being company, has acquired Burton Medical Products, a provider of specialized lighting solutions for healthcare facilities, from the Norwegian industrial group Glamox.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition will enable Philips to further strengthen its position as a provider of healthcare lighting solutions and as such, the business will become a part of the Professional Luminaires business group of Philips Lighting, a company statement said.
“The acquisition of Burton will add a range of specialized medical lighting solutions to our general lighting portfolio for the healthcare segment, while building further the position of Philips as a total solutions provider to the medical profession,” said Marc de Jong, general manager, Professional Luminaires. – TradeArabia News Service
