Ophthalmology congress chief takes over

Dr Abdulaziz Al Rajhi, president of the Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (Meaco), has taken over as the president of the World Ophthalmology Congress (WOC) 2012.
In accepting the presidency, at the opening of WOC 2010 in Berlin, Dr Al Rajhi said his succession marked the beginning of the countdown to WOC 2012 – the series’ 33rd edition - which will be hosted by Abu Dhabi and see up to 12,000 participants and delegates arrive in the UAE capital.
Meaco, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), are currently in Berlin actively promoting WOC 2012.
“Our stand has attracted strong interest from potential WOC 2010 visitors who have expressed their eagerness to visit Abu Dhabi,” said Gillian Taylor, business tourism manager, ADTA.
WOC 2012 will be held from February 16-20 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. – TradeArabia News Service
