Merck Serono unveils corporate brand

Dubai based pharmaceutical and bio-technology company Merck Serono unveiled its new corporate brand at a gala event in Dubai to mark the company's 50 years of operations in the region.

The company's new brand - embodying the tagline ‘Living Science’- was launched at Burj Al Arab in the presence of leading medical professionals on Tuesday.

Merck Serono commenced operations in the region in the late 1950’s when the company was then known as Merck Pharmaceuticals, said its top official.

Karim Smaira, CEO of Merck Serono UAE, “This was a wonderful opportunity to gather together colleagues, industry partners and associates to help us celebrate the long and important relationships we have formed with the UAE.”

According to him, the Middle East region was an important strategic market for Merck Serono. He later detailed how the company had experienced rapid revenue as well as market share growth in the medical sector over recent years as the sector expanded.

Smaira also recognized and celebrated the strong local partnerships developed with the medical community and health ministries in the UAE as well as other countries throughout the region.

“We’ve been now over 50 years in this region, we are committed to the UAE, to the region, and we will continue to grow as the UAE grows”, he added.

Karim pointed out that Merck Serono was a company known worldwide for developing breakthrough medicines through the use of the hi-tech biotechnology techniques.

“Biopharmaceuticals are the bright future of medical science, and we’re at the forefront of the move to a more personalized approach and tailored individual solutions,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
