Philips to offer free health checks at expo

Dubai, April 6, 2010

Royal Philips Electronics, a diversified health and well-being company, will offer free health checks to visitors at an upcoming women’s healthcare show in Dubai.

Women’s Healthcare 2010 will open tomorrow (April 7) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre to run until April 10.

A specially created health check booth will be located at the venue providing visitors free, quick and simple health checks such as glucose, cholesterol, lung capacity, body mass index and blood pressure.

Philips has a long experience in women’s healthcare and is committed to help improve it by extending its knowledge on prevention before cure. Performing basic tests can help spot early warning signs of heart problems and diabetes, which are prevalent in the region.

“Well-being is not just about healthcare, but also about how we live our lives. Philips continually strives to understand the changing needs of its consumers and the key factors that influence them,” said Louis Hakim, VP of Royal Philips Electronics and CEO of Philips Middle East.

“People are becoming more health-conscious, spurning junk and convenience foods and drinks in favour of nutritious alternatives. Consumers also lead busy lives and don’t have time to cook elaborate meals every night of the week. Philips knows its consumers and understands that they want effective products that do the job well,” he added.

Philips will be showcasing its latest innovations designed to improve not only women’s health and lifestyle but their families’ too.

The new range of Philips Healthy Living kitchen appliances will be on display. Products will include food processors, steamers, rice cookers, health grills, juicers, blenders and breakfast sets. – TradeArabia News Service
