Regional healthcare pioneers honoured

Healthcare pioneers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Jordan have been honoured for their contributions towards regional innovation and development in the annual Arab Health Achievement and Innovation Awards.
The award ceremony was held last night (January 26) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai.
The Excellence in Imaging and Diagnostics Award went to Tawam Hospital, Al Ain.
Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi, received the Excellence in Surgery Services Award.
The award for Excellence in Laboratory Services went to the King Hussein Cancer Centre Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Jordan.
The award for Excellence in Patient Centred Care was made to Al Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
The Rashid Hospital Trauma Centre in Dubai received the Excellence in Hospital Emergency Department Award.
Ambulatory Healthcare Services of the Abu Dhabi Health Services company (Seha 2) received the Human Resource Development Award.
The Excellence in Electronic Health Records Award went to the National Guard Health Affairs of Saudi Arabia.
For an “excellent ongoing project,” the Excellence in Patient Safety Award went to Lifeline Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
An Outstanding Contribution of an Individual to the Middle East Healthcare Industry Award went to Dr Azad Moopen, chairman of the Dr Moopen Group, Dubai.
The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, the biggest healthcare event in the Middle East, closes tomorrow (January 28) and has seen 20 per cent year-on-year growth with the opening of new halls adding a further 20,000 sqm of exhibition space.
Arab Health is the flagship event of IIR Middle East's Life Science Division and the region's premier event for the healthcare sector. A total of 2700 exhibiting companies from 70 countries are taking part, said the organisers.
The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress is supported by the UAE Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority and the Abu Dhabi Health Authority.-TradeArabia News Service
