DHCC, DuBiotech to showcase new developments

Dubai, January 26, 2010

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), the world’s first integrated healthcare free zone, and DuBiotech, a major life sciences hub, will showcase the latest developments at Arab Health 2010, the region’s largest healthcare event.

Running until 29 January at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the current edition of the show is expected to feature an expanded presence with over 2,600 exhibitors.

As a leader in providing the highest quality healthcare which prioritises patient needs, DHCC will launch a suite of new consultancy services including health informatics, medical licensing exams and primary source verification, a system to verify the credentials, experience and qualifications of healthcare professionals.

The services will aim to help the GCC healthcare organisations and professionals establish and maintain the highest quality standards that will benefit both the healthcare industry and the patient alike.

In addition, DHCC will be highlighting new investment opportunities for leading healthcare providers interested in being part of one of the most ambitious healthcare developments in the world.

Dr Ayesha Abdullah, senior vice-president of Dubai Healthcare City, said: “Since its inception, DHCC has grown into a city of over 90 outpatient centers and diagnostic laboratories, two hospitals and over 100 commercial and retail services. We have the highest standards in healthcare and have received wide, international recognition for these standards.”

“As part of our continued focus on quality and meeting patient needs, we are expanding our services and investment opportunities. If organisations are committed to healthcare best practice and want to be a part of legacy that will change the face of healthcare in the region, they should visit us during Arab Health,” Dr Abdullah added.

Dr Marco Baccanti, executive director, DuBiotech, said: “Our participation at Arab Health 2010 comes close on the heels of the successful completion of the state-of-the-art Nucleotide Lab Complex.”

“As the largest laboratory facility in the Middle East, it represents a major milestone in the development of DuBiotech. The complex is the ideal place to encourage life sciences initiatives where new ideas are conceptualised and developed into viable businesses,” he added.

“One of our business partners - Maquet Middle East - has already commenced operations at the lab complex. Visitors to Arab Lab 2010 can look forward to viewing Maquet’s revolutionary medical technology for operating room systems and intensive care units,” Dr Baccanti concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
