The inaugural Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition and Congress was held from June 14 to 16 at Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

The Hospital Build Awards recognises excellence in design, operation and management of healthcare facilities in the Middle East. It is an independent and prestigious endorsement of the quality of Middle East based healthcare designers, managers and companies and organizations.

"This award reinforces the vision of Dubai’s leadership for the university hospital to define a new standard for healthcare excellence in the region with the latest advances in clinical care, exceptional educational resources and robust biomedical, clinical and health services research programmes,” said Jim Kingsbury, chief executive officer of University Hospital.

“The 400-bed tertiary medical center will offer centers of excellence in oncology, neurosciences, musculoskeletal medicine and orthopedics, women’s health, cardiovascular & thoracic services and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic disease,” he added.

Kamil Eid, manager of health services for HDP (Overseas) and a member of the judging panel said: “We were impressed with the number of nominations we received for the awards and believe this reflects the need for a program of this kind to recognise good practice in constructing new healthcare facilities in the region.”
