Dubai Airports tighten screening for flu

Dubai Airports said it was working very closely with the Department of Health to prevent the entry of H1N1 influenza into the country and had tightened its screening procedure.

As part of the preventive measures thermal imaging cameras have been installed at Dubai International for screening passengers arriving from affected areas, said a statement from Dubai Airports.

The cameras were installed on Friday, and all screenings done over the weekend were normal, it added.

Airlines have been requested to inform passengers onboard of the screening at Dubai International and assure them of the expert medical care that will be available at hand if required.

If any suspected cases are identified, they will be transported to Airport Medical Center for further tests and handled accordingly, it said.

Airlines have also been urged to announce minors onboard a flight ahead of its arrival to facilitate their screening at the airport,. the statement added.-TradeArabia News Service
