Gulf Healthcare launches Medsol

Gulf Healthcare International, which owns the largest private sector labs in Dubai and Kuwait, has announced the launch of its clinical laboratory brand - Medsol at the ongoing Arab Health Show.
The company has invested $75 million into the new Medsol laboratory network which will create 600 jobs across the planned 26 locations in Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
Medsol will provide pathology testing services via a network of branded laboratories, including independent and hospital laboratories across the Mena region.
Medsol’s laboratory services will be disease-state focused and include testing for screening, diagnosis, prognosis and response to treatment.
As part of the aggressive growth plans, Medsol will have 26 operational labs across the this year, said a company official.
Gulf Healthcare International has seen its revenue increase from $14 million to $35 million in the last two years and the launch of Medsol will see the further expansion and diversification of GHI’s pathology testing services throughout the region.
High quality laboratory services will be made available to physicians and clinics supported by an exceptional specimen pick-up and report delivery service.
For consumers, Medsol will offer disease screening tests based on population-at-risk statistics.
In the field of hospital laboratory management, Medsol will pioneer standards in the region with services incorporating the entire function of laboratory technology and management.

Medsol currently operates more than nine regional laboratories in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait at Welcare Hospital’s pathology laboratory, The Histopathology & Specialty Laboratory in Dubai and Salmiya laboratory in Kuwait.
Several new sites are planned in the next six months, including one at Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, McGourty added.
