Dubai centre to play key role in conference

Dubai Bone & Joint Center (DBAJ), the centre for musculoskeletal treatment and research in the Middle East, will lead discussion on orthopedics at the Arab Health 2009, which opens today.

s constantly strived to align themselves with best practices and internationally acclaimed standards in the healthcare industry in their quest to provide the best musculoskeletal treatment and care. Taking this philosophy forward DBAJ will play an important role in the upcoming Orthopedic Conference which is part of Arab Health 2009 from 26-28 January 2009.

DBAJ’s elite panel of expert doctors will share their thoughts and experiences during various sessions which will be held across the three-days of the conference.

Dr Maarten Spruit will speak on ‘THA: Literature Review on Un-cemented Cups’ and ‘Fusion’, Dr Mike van Steijn on ‘Ligament Balancing in TKA’, ‘Managing Bone Loss in Revision TKA’ and ‘Cartilage Lesions and Treatment Options’, Dr William Murrell on ‘The Athlete’s Shoulder’ and ‘Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair’, Dr Shah Khan on ‘Single Event Multiple Level Resections (SEMLR) for Lower Limbs in Cerebral Palsy’ and ‘Management of Flat Foot - The Best Foot Forward’, Dr Zbiggy Brodzinsky - ‘Minimal Invasive Surgery for Symptomatic Discs’ and Mr Rashid Buhari - ‘Conservative Treatment Algorithm for Low Back Pain’.

Suzanne Al Houby, vice president, DBAJ said: “Through the Orthopedic Conference DBAJ intends to provide a platform to discuss the various medical developments and the changing healthcare environment in the Middle East. The UAE healthcare industry does set high standards of operation and has been a preferred destination for medical tourists from across the region.”
