Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) aims at entering the Guinness World Record by unveiling the world's largest breast cancer ribbon made from thousands of carnation flowers at Zabeel Park in Dubai tomorrow (November 16).

The record is expected to reach out to millions in the world with a remarkable reminder for women to conduct regular self-examinations and a message to encourage the medical community to direct research activities towards identifying trends of breast cancer, a Gulf News report said.

Dr Muhadditha Al Hashemi, CEO, Dubai Healthcare City, said: "One of the biggest challenges we face in the region continues to be lack of awareness about the benefits of early detection of breast cancer."

The unveiling of the ribbon, the Avon Walkathon and several sponsored activities will be organised to mark the event.
