Health centre for children

Manama, June 24, 2007

A group of Bahraini volunteers plan to set up a new health centre for children and patients with disabilities, diabetes and other illnesses.

The non-profit Dar Al Shifa will be set up from donations once it receives approval from the relevant government organisations, said project head Abdulkareem Buallay.

"It will offer health care services and funding to children and patients who are not able to afford the consultation and treatment," he said.

The centre will mainly offer services for children, the disabled and diabetics as well as cardiac patients.

The centre will also include a research lab specialised in keeping pace with the latest advancements in medicine.

"Funding will also be offered for people who want to continue their studies in medicine but can't afford it," he said.

The centre will be a charitable organisation and all the funding will be through donations.

People are welcome to volunteer or become members of the volunteer group. For more information, call Buallay on 39460640.  TradeArabia News Service
