DUBAI, 6 days ago

Dubai’s Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has launched the 7th edition of its ‘Innovators’ competition.

The annual event offers an opportunity for individuals aged 18 and above to unleash their creativity and transform their ideas into reality, a statement said.

At the core of this programme is a dedication for creating an atmosphere conducive to innovation and excellence. Participants are given access to the state-of-the-art Fab Lab UAE, allowing them to navigate the complex process from ideas to implementation. This one-of-a-kind platform provides them with the tools, resources, and support they need to perfect their plans and turn them into reality. The deadline for submissions is July 27.

Dr Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General and CEO of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, said: “This initiative is in line with our mission to foster innovation and excellence among students, aligning with the visionary leadership’s strategic plans to enhance future preparedness by emphasizing excellence in education, scientific and technological advancements. Our goal is to graduate competent generations who will contribute to the UAE's global reputation for quality education, talent, and innovation.”

Dr Al Suwaidi highlighted that the judgement process is extensive and rigorous, overseen by a distinguished panel of experts. Participants will go through a series of stages, beginning with the submission of project concepts, then executing their ideas in Fab Lab UAE, and finally selecting the most brilliant solutions.

Fab Lab UAE stands as a testament to the UAE’s commitment to nurturing a generation of Emirati innovators. By promoting a creative culture and embracing the potential of digital manufacturing, the foundation is paving the way for a new generation of Emirati innovators who will leave a lasting impression on their nation's future, the statement said. - TradeArabia News Service
