53pc of iGA ‘leadership positions held by women’

Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed has said that women in iGA hold 53% of leadership positions. This includes the Deputy CE for Statistics and Population Registry, and six women in a Directors’ roles, 23 hold Chief level and 25 are Heads of units or Supervisors while 75 are among the Senior Specialist levels.
 
Highlighting the importance of Bahraini Women’s Day he said it is an opportunity to celebrate women’s contributions and achievements across political, economic, social and cultural fields. He attributed these accomplishments to the unwavering support and attention provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which plays a pivotal role in fostering the development of Bahraini women, who are ambitious, dedicated, and eager to serve the kingdom.
 
Al Qaed also acknowledged the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his efforts in supporting women's progress through various government initiatives. He commended the Supreme Council for Women’s role (SCW), led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, applauding its initiatives, particularly its role in empowering Bahraini women in the field of information and communications technology (ICT).

Al Qaed said that the iGA remains committed to the directions and aspirations of the senior leadership by supporting SCW’s initiatives and efforts, as well as providing support to women working within the organisation through high-level professional training programmes. 
 
He underscored the role of women in supporting and implementing iGA’s projects related to digital transformation, surveys, studies, data provision, and statistics.
