VitalSource, TechKnowledge team up for digital learning solutions

LONDON, September 20, 2017

A new collaboration between VitalSource Technologies, a world leader in digital course materials, and TechKnowledge, a leading digital education solutions provider in the Middle East, will now give the region greater access to world-class innovative digital learning materials in English and Arabic.

By working together, the two companies will accelerate and enhance the digital learning transformation in the region through access to powerful tools for the creation, management, integration and delivery of content, and data analytics, said a statement.

“TechKnowledge has a long history of partnering with publishers and ed-tech companies to provide digital content solutions and services in the Middle East,” said VitalSource managing director for EMEA and Asia Pacific John Donovan. “Bringing together the strengths of both companies will drive exciting new opportunities for a digitally led transformation of learning content in a fast growing and innovative region.”

According to Donovan, one of the most important facets of the joining of forces between VitalSource and TechKnowledge is the ability for publishers and educators to create digital-first, interactive Arabic language content.

“No matter where you are in the world, students want access to interactive study materials to help them learn better,” said Donovan, “and, preferably, created in their native language. By working with TechKnowledge and publishers, we will help leading institutions in the Middle East to improve learning outcomes through the successful deployment of digital course materials.”

For TechKnowledge, collaborating with VitalSource helps them provide solutions for a number of issues faced by higher education institutions throughout the Middle East, he said.

“This collaboration between VitalSource and TechKnowledge goes a long way in addressing the growing frustrations that surround print textbook distribution in the Middle East and Turkey,” said Rany Al-Baghdadi, TechKnowledge president. “More and more universities are wanting to shift to digital learning solutions, reduce overall total cost of ownership and, most importantly, take advantage of technology and analytics to dramatically improve learning outcomes.

“By bringing together VitalSource's technology and solutions and TechKnowledge's digital footprint and infrastructure across the Middle East, we are gearing up to do those things and provide enhanced learning solutions to our region.”  - TradeArabia News Service
