Bahrain gears up for Gulf education forum

More than 200 participants, teachers and enducation specialists from private and public schools and universities in Bahrain will take part in the "Gulf Education Future Technology (GEFT2016) forum to be held from May 18 to 19.
To be held under the patronage of Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education at the Gulf Hotel, the event is being organised by the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) and “Work Smart” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
BTECH president Ubaydli Ubaydli said the forum is aimed at supporting governmental efforts to strengthen the capacity of teachers using information and communication technology in education, move forward in building a national talent capable of digital educational content production, graduation of generations capable of creativity, and innovation and leadership in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
"The two-day event will keep pace with the efforts of the ministry which is this year launching the "digital empowerment in education" project in selected schools in Bahrain," stated Ubaydli.
"It will also take advantage of accumulated experience in a project of His Majesty King Hamad schools of the future and the regional center for information technology and communication," he added.
Ubaydli said GEFT2016 seeks to develop a national model for digital empowerment in education, shaping a clear national plan to activate this model, connecting with digital empowerment in various aspects of life, building Bahraini citizen capabilities as a key digital empowerment element.
Work Smart president Ahmed Al Hujairi said the forum combines educational institutions and technology companies in Bahrain in order to build a deeper understanding about the needs of e-learning, stimulate innovation and creativity among teachers and school leaders through the effective use of empowerment digital education, keep abreast of new developments and successful experiences in the field of digital empowerment in education around the world.
The discussions will also address infrastructure networks, programs, and applications of information and communications used in the educational process, such as computers and interactive display, digital photography and blackboards modern electronic and digital devices, as well as educational applications such as digital educational content of the curriculum and activities enrichment digital and virtual laboratories and simulation programs and training websites and forums educational digital.-TradeArabia News Service
