British Council Bahrain to host Edukex expo
MANAMA, November 12, 2015
British Council Bahrain has organised the annual Education UK Exhibition (Edukex 2015), giving prospective students for undergraduate and graduate programmes the opportunity to meet representatives from universities, colleges and educational institutions.
The exhibition will take place on November 15 and 16 at the Acacia Ballroom, Ramee Grand Hotel in Seef.
Organised annually by the British Council, the education exhibition is expected to attract more than 1,500 visitors to meet 29 UK universities’ representatives.
The exhibition will be opened by UK Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin and secretary general of the Higher Education Council, professor Riyadh Hamza.
Edukex is part of the British Council initiative to enhance cultural and educational relations between Bahrain and the UK by helping create a knowledge-based economy.
Prospective students from across Bahrain are invited to attend Edukex to obtain information from representatives of various universities and learning institutions about acquiring UK qualifications.
Tony Calderbank, British Council director, said: “We are very pleased to welcome this delegation of British higher education institutions to Bahrain to participate in this year’s Edukex exhibition. It is a wonderful opportunity for Bahraini students and parents to find out more about the opportunities offered by the UK in the area of higher education and to get first-hand answers to any questions they may have about studying there.
"I strongly encourage everyone who is thinking about studying in the UK to visit the exhibition – you will find it a very worthwhile experience and we look forward to seeing you there”
Edukex will provide students with the chance to learn more about UK education opportunities, courses being offered in the English language, in vocational skills & knowledge, and in higher education.
There will also be information about institutions, entry requirements, visas, and travel.
British Council also plays an important role in providing opportunities for both Middle East and UK institutions to meet potential partners for mutually beneficial collaboration in transnational education and research.
The main objective of Edukex is to raise awareness of the quality of UK education and the extensive choice of courses and institutions on offer at every level. - TradeArabia News Service
