AQPC to host top knowledge summit in Dubai

DUBAI, October 11, 2015

APQC, a global leader in knowledge management (KM), in partnership with top research firm Projacs Academy is bringing a major KM Conference in the US to Dubai, UAE, making it the first time the summit is held outside of the US.

The conference will take place on November 18-19 at the Ritz-Carlton Dubai DIFC.

“There is a growing realization by leading organizations in the Middle East of the real value knowledge management provides. We are excited to support our members and knowledge management practitioners in the region with this event,” said Dr. Carla O’Dell, APQC CEO.

APQC’s roots in knowledge management date back to 1993, when Dr. O’Dell helped found it as a business discipline.  Over the last 30 years, APQC has helped hundreds of companies worldwide establish and grow KM practices and has hosted successful KM Conferences and workshops in the US for more than 20 years.

“Dubai has become an integral business hub to this region with an increasing amount of investments and business opportunities,” said Luay Khoury, vice chairman of Projacs International.

“With the fast growing pace of the city and the constant thirst for knowledge and personal improvement, it only made sense to make Dubai our first venture in the Middle East.  We are eager to host this unprecedented event in collaboration with APQC.”

In a business context, knowledge is what employees know about their customers, each other, products, processes,  mistakes, and successes, whether that knowledge is tacit or explicit. Knowledge management is a systematic effort that enables information and knowledge to grow, flow, and create value. Organizations implement KM programs to institutionalize and promote knowledge-sharing practices.

Through workshops and keynote presentations, the 2015 APQC MENA Knowledge Management Conference will provide attendees an understanding of what knowledge management is, why KM is good business, how to build a business case for KM and how KM supports an organization’s core processes.

Some of the foremost experts in KM that represent leading global organizations, such as Microsoft and NASA, are scheduled to participate as keynote speakers and panelists. Presenters include CEOs, Chief Knowledge Officers, Global KM Leads and an award winning education professional.

“Conference attendees will benefit from Projacs’ extensive knowledge of the complex business environments and challenges in the region as well as APQC’s experience and expertise in applying KM approaches to meet those challenges head-on. This partnership is a powerful combination,” said Dr O’Dell. – TradeArabia News Service
