Sabic launches 'Back to School’ programme
RIYADH, August 24, 2015
Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) has launched the 'Back to School' programme in various regions of the kingdom, coinciding with the new school year.
The programme is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs and in collaboration with the Sabic Employees Charity Fund (BERR), said a statement.
It is targetting 60,000 primary and middle school students, providing them with bags filled with basic school supplies, it said.
Sabic employees in Riyadh, Jubail, Yanbu, Dammam and Jeddah, along with a number of volunteers from outside the company, participated in the programme by helping to fill the school bags.
The BERR Fund collaborates with several charities, as well as the Ministry of Social Affairs, in distributing the school bags around the kingdom.
The ‘Back to School’ programme is part of Sabic’s corporate social responsibility strategy to serve the community, said the statement.
It is in line with Sabic's CSR objectives, which focus on education, health care, environmental protection, water and sustainable agriculture, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
